Movie Madness: Looper

OMG just watched Looper last night.
I don't know, I feel like any movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in it is a good one, regardless of the storyline.
So I feel like I'm a bit biased.

Anyway, SPOILER-rific blog entry if you haven't watched the movie.
SO LOOK AWAY.

So basically, Looper is a time-travel movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.
In a nutshell, Loopers are those who kill people from the future, because apparently disposing dead bodies are really hard in the future.
So they send the people who are supposed to be killed to the past and then the loopers take them out and dispose the bodies in the past instead.
Anyway, once they are no longer needed, the loopers will need to close out their loop.
In other words, they will have to kill future version of themselves,
once they have, they are basically retired.
In the future though, a guy called "Rainmaker" is closing out all of the loops that have been made.
Here's the kicker though, JGL (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is playing the young version of Bruce Willis.
And basically Bruce Willis comes back to the past to find past version of Rainmaker and kill him before he gets to be the Rainmaker.

Anyway, the reviews of the movie have been stellar so far, with critics noting it as the smartest time travel movie of all time, or best sci-fi movie in the year.
I personally think it was OK.
Not bad, just ok. Because I felt like, the reviews have been so amazingly good that it's really hard to stand up to the impossible expectation.
Kind of like Dark Knight Rises.

But yeah, JGL is in it, so go watch it now and be amazed at the prosthetic they use.
To close out this post, another photo of JGL.

Isn't he dreamy?

Lauren Conrad & Flemington Flowers Market

Last week I went to Kinokuniya down at the Galleries Victoria,
and just sat there reading Lauren Conrad's Style
I felt like if there is one book that is worth buying by all of the reality stars turn fashion mogul,
this is it.
The Cover of the Book

It has styling tips for your hair, nails, and makeup.
And one of the thing she says in the book is to always alter your jeans.
This is surprising, cause this is exactly what I always do.
I find that trying to find the perfect pair of jeans is harder than passing an actuarial exam. (true story)
So I always, alter the length and the "skininess" of the jeans' legs.
It always makes it look more tailored and fit better afterwards.

Anyway, it features a list of things every person has to have in their closet.
Hers include the perfect LBD, a maxi dress, a blazer and so on.
Looking at this list, I feel like I ticked most of the items BUT a white shirt.
That being said, I'm on a hunt to find the perfect white shirt. *sigh*
Probably will be harder than finding the perfect jeans.

I mean seriously, she is THE perfect fashion role model for me.
Down to the way she french-braid her fringe, and how she has the perfect cat-eye.
She ventured to the ombre hair trend earlier this year,
dipping her ponytail into pink hair dye,

She said on her site thebeautydepartment.com that she began by dipping in the last 20 cm end to a light pink dye, and then repeating the process for every 5 cm using a darker pink shade every time.

And her *normal* ombre hair is so pretty.
See how the end of her hair seamlessly blends in with the darker shade of her roots.
Seriously, I can't see the ombre hair trend dying any time soon.

So yeah anyway, I'm thinking of buying this book.
And this post is the proof of my undying girl-crush to Lauren Conrad.
And, her next book Beauty by Lauren Conrad, is coming up soon and I can't wait for that to come out!!

p.s. I went to the flower market down at Flemington last Saturday.
Look what I made! and it only cost me $13 :)

Farhampton

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER IS BACK!
So the season 8 of How I Met Your Mother is starting out with a bang.
and can I say, Cobie Smulders is positively beautiful in her wedding dress.
And can I say that wedding dresses with sleeves are really pretty,
Look at Drew Barrymore

Anyway, BACK TO THE HIMYM TRAIN!
The story follows exactly where we left off from the last episode.
SPOILER ALERT if you haven't watched the newest episode.

SPOILER!

But ultimately,
Lily and Marshall are turning into zombie-parents-hybrid.
They are exhausted from taking care of Marvin and in dire need of some sleep, or caffeine, or something.
Robin has a new boyfriend, Nick and he's hot. full stop.
Quinn and Barney are blissfully engaged when Quinn found out that Barney used to be Robin's boyfriend.
And Ted.. well Ted had positive reassurance from an unexpected source, Klaus.
Yep, the same Klaus that Victoria left to be with Ted.

In order to understand the conversation below, you need to know that
wunderbar = wonderful
lebenslangerschicksalsschatz =  life long treasure of destiny

Klaus: Victoria is wunderbar, but she is not my lebenslangerschicksalsschatz. She’s my beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand…it means the thing that is almost the thing that you want, but it’s not quite. That is Victoria to me.
Ted: How do you know she’s not lebenslangerschicksalsschatz? Maybe as the years go by she’ll get lebenslangerschicksalsschatz…ier?
Klaus: lebenslangerschicksalsschatz is not something that develops over time. It is something that happens instantaneously. It courses through you like the water of a river after a storm, filling you and emptying you all at once. You feel it throughout your body, in your hands, in your heart, in your stomach, in your skin…have you ever felt this way about someone?
Ted: …I think so.
Klaus: If you have to think about it, you have not felt it.
Ted: And you’re absolutely sure you’ll find that someday?
Klaus: Of course. Everyone does eventually…you just never know when or where

And this happens with Band of Horses' The Funeral playing.
If you are looking for the one, this is for you.
You often hear in movies that the people who have found their "ones" usually say that they just know.
And I'm pretty sure that's how it is.
No matter how great you think someone is, if they don't have that ineffable factor.
You shouldn't be thinking of how great someone is.
You should know they are.

Anyway, the last song played on Farhampton:

So yeah, basically, this solidifies my love for HIMYM even more.
Til next episode!
